Terms of use

Effective November 1, 2026

These are the rules for using BoonMe: the iPhone app, its iMessage app, and the pages on boonme.app where people answer a boon without the app. BoonMe is run by Matthew Weghorst. By using BoonMe, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, write to us at info@boonme.app.

Who BoonMe is for

BoonMe is for people 13 and older. If you’re under 13, please don’t use it. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it.

What BoonMe is

BoonMe is for asking the people you know for a hand, and offering one back. It’s free, and there’s nothing to buy in the app. Karma keeps giving and receiving in balance between Boonmates. It isn’t money: it has no cash value, and it can’t be bought, sold or exchanged.

What isn’t allowed

BoonMe has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don’t use BoonMe to post or send:

This covers everything you write in BoonMe: boons, their details, notes and your name. Only ask for help that’s legal and safe to give.

Report and block

If someone breaks these rules, tell us. They aren’t told who reported them.

If someone is in danger right now, call your local emergency number first.

What we do about reports

We read every report and act on it within 24 hours. When something breaks these rules, we hide it from everyone, and we can suspend the account that posted it. Someone who keeps breaking the rules, or does something seriously harmful, stays suspended.

You and the people you help

You’re responsible for what you post and for the help you agree to give. BoonMe puts you in touch; the help itself is between you and the other person, and we can’t vouch for anyone. Use the same judgement you would with anyone you know.

You can stop using BoonMe at any time, and delete your account in the app: menu, then Account, then Delete my account. Our privacy policy says what we collect and what deleting removes.

Apple’s terms

You get BoonMe from Apple’s App Store, so Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms add BoonMe’s own rules to it.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how you use BoonMe, we’ll tell you in the app or by email first.
